A new term full of learning, growth and celebration — cricket, heritage foods, our new website, and our biggest Exhibition Day yet.
Welcome back — and what a term we have in store for you. From our brand-new Junior Cricket Programme to the rich flavours of our indigenous food journey, from our exciting new school website to the most ambitious Exhibition Day we have ever planned, Term 2 is set to be extraordinary.
As always, every decision we make — every programme we introduce, every meal we serve, every policy we uphold — is guided by one unwavering conviction: that every child in our care is extraordinary. Our job is simply to create the conditions in which their greatness can emerge.
We are grateful for your trust, your partnership and your continued belief in the Khaya Montessori vision. This is your school too. Welcome home.
We are proud to introduce Junior Cricket at Khaya Montessori. Practice sessions are held twice weekly at the Academy — just 3 km away — with match experience and school transport included.
Cricket is not merely a sport — it is a masterclass in the very values this school was founded upon:
Individual brilliance shines brightest in service of the team.
Every delivery demands decision-making and tactical awareness.
Handle setbacks gracefully — return to bat, bowl wide, come back stronger.
The concentration cricket demands mirrors the Montessori classroom.
A life skill that serves every child far beyond the boundary.
Building on last term's indigenous food journey, we are introducing two new additions to our menu — celebrating the nutritional wisdom of Zimbabwe's culinary heritage.
Made from sorghum or millet, small grain sadza is nutritionally superior to refined maize meal — rich in iron, zinc and dietary fibre. It carries the memory of generations of Zimbabwean families and connects our children to the agricultural heritage of the land.
Expect your child to come home talking about texture, colour and taste — and perhaps asking for seconds!
Sweet potato — roasted or steamed — paired with warm Makoni tea brewed from indigenous Zimbabwean herbs. Sweet potato delivers beta-carotene and Vitamin A; Makoni tea is antioxidant-rich and deeply rooted in traditional plant wisdom.
A truly Home Grown pairing that nourishes both body and identity.
Dietary requirements: If your child has any allergy or restriction that may affect their participation in our indigenous food programme, please notify the school office in writing before the end of the first week of term.
We are proud to announce that Khaya Montessori School now has a brand-new interactive website — fully mobile-friendly and packed with everything families need to know about our school.
Explore our programmes, photo gallery, admissions process, daily schedule and contact page. Share it with any family looking for a Montessori home for their child.
Your secure portal gives you direct access to your child's school life. Contact the office for your login credentials.
We encourage every family to take a few minutes this term to read the key policies that govern our school. Log in to your portal and navigate to Policies & Documents.
Our most celebrated annual event is back — and this year it's STEM-Inspired. Every learner from the youngest in Casa to our senior Junior School scholars will present a project reflecting their term's learning journey.
Expect volcano experiments, coding demonstrations, mathematical art, cultural science boards, botanical investigations and engineering challenges that will leave you in absolute awe.
Exhibition Day is when our children become the teachers — and they never disappoint.
Watch this space — the full Exhibition Day date and programme will be communicated via WhatsApp, Learning Genie and the Parent Portal.
Ensure your app is updated and notifications are enabled. Daily photos and observations are posted throughout the term. Contact the office if you need your login reset.
All fees are payable in full on or before the first day of term. Payment plans may be arranged in advance. Please speak to us early if you anticipate difficulty.
Please notify the office in writing before the end of the first week if your child has any allergy or restriction that may affect the indigenous food programme.
Save a copy of the Term 2 newsletter for your records, or share it with family members who may not have internet access.
